Our Service helps families manage safe zones on a map, control screen time, manage call permissions, and receive location-based notifications. Because our Service is designed for families including children, we take privacy seriously and are committed to protecting the personal information of all users.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Name and email address

• Profile picture (if provided)

• Authentication credentials (managed by our authentication providers)

• Account role (admin, adult, or child)

Family Information

To set up your family group, we collect:

• Family name

• Family member relationships and invite records

• Email addresses of invited family members

Location Data

To provide our core safe zones feature, we collect:

• Addresses and geographic coordinates of safe zone locations

• Geofence boundary shapes (polygons drawn on the map)

• Location entry and exit events from mobile devices (timestamps and zone identifiers)

The iOS app uses background location services to monitor geofence regions. Location data is processed entirely on-device to determine whether a device is within a designated safe zone and is never transmitted to our servers.

Contacts (iOS Only)

With your permission, the iOS app accesses your device's contacts to support communication limits via Apple's Family Controls framework. Contact data is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Screen Time Data (iOS Only)

The iOS app uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls APIs to manage app and website restrictions. Screen Time configuration data (such as which apps or websites are restricted) is stored only on the local device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Device and Usage Information

We may automatically collect:

• Device model, operating system, and version

• App version and build number

• Crash reports and diagnostic logs

• General usage patterns for improving the Service

Local Preferences

The web dashboard stores your display theme preference (light or dark mode) in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and family group

• Define and monitor safe zone locations

• Send location-based notifications when family members enter or leave safe zones

• Manage Screen Time restrictions and call permissions on family devices

• Provide customer support

• Monitor and improve the reliability and performance of our Service

• Diagnose technical issues through crash reports and logs

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate our platform. Each service has its own privacy policy governing how it processes data:

• Firebase — Authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications (iOS app)

• Google Maps and Google Places — Map display, address search, and geofence visualization

• Google Sign-In — Optional authentication method (iOS app)

• Bugfender — Remote logging and diagnostics (iOS app)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Data shared with third-party services is limited to what is necessary for their specific function.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is designed for family use and may be used by children under the age of 13. We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.

• Child accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian

• Children do not provide personal information directly — account setup is handled by a parent through QR codes or device PINs

• We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the Service for child accounts (name and location events)

• A parent or guardian may review, modify, or delete their child's information at any time by managing the family account

• Screen Time and call-blocking data for child devices is stored only on the device itself

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without parental consent, please contact us immediately at privacy@mobilesafezones.com so we can promptly remove it.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account or remove a family member, the associated data is deleted from our systems within a reasonable timeframe.

Crash reports and diagnostic logs are retained for up to 90 days to support troubleshooting and are then automatically purged.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)

• Secure authentication through established providers (Firebase Auth, Google Sign-In)

• Access controls that limit data visibility to authorized family members

• Sensitive credentials stored in secure secret management systems

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
